The last month was filled with preparations for our workshop series in May, June, and July this Summer. The needs assessment and the stakeholder analysis were successfully completed, the information management to disseminate the project progress was set up and the partner meetings held. Furthermore, the QRM (quality and risk management) plan was drafted, and the project evaluation team was established.
The first highlight of the project will be the Online-Workshops. The topic of the first workshop will be “coordination”, led by Hungarian Red Cross, Disaster Management Department, and we will have a deep insight into coordination between emergency management authorities and the other actors. This workshop will take place at 27th of May 2021, starting at 0900 CEST online. Therefore, we are already looking forward to the participation of as many as possible experts in Civil Protection and Disaster Risk Management all around Europe to get their valuable input and expertise.
At the same time, INDIMA project management, with DSU, Romania, in lead, supported by iHELP a Polish NPO, and Publicomm, an Austrian consultancy are working to develop the INDIMA concept and prepare the simulation exercise (SIMEX), to be held in March 2022 in Timișoara, Romania. For the SIMEX there are two versions in preparation: a VR-supported tabletop exercise (TTX) with the attendance of 30-40 persons – or if the pandemic situation requires – a fully virtual simulation exercise instead of the TTX. The decision will be done in the next months to be able to have a proper time to prepare the situation, script, and VR scenarios. For the VR-based scenario, we have a very experienced partner, SMURD foundation will support us in the technical development and the TTX.
